“These are the times that try men's souls.” | Jeff I've got a big feeder wagon Apache brand. Used in corrals, it's ok. But had a heifer get a head caught in by front hitch. We saved her. I can't remember just how she got caught. Theory is great to get them to clean feed up, however they sure dig ground up reaching into feeder if you leave it in one place. Takes management to move them frequently. In a pasture setting I would just feed daily in different spots.
Only time I use it in pasture is if I know I can't be there to feed everyday. I bought mine used, purchased it cheaper than two ring feeders, so I can't complain. I don't like ring feeders either for same reason. At end of day I would rather feed at fenceline bunk. But I realize that's not practical for most pasture situations.
All in all good product, allows you to tow to feed pile, tow back to cattle if needed. |
