ECIL | We make an annual trip down to Table Rock Lake, Shell Knob area. Man I love that lake. Just got back. This was year number 30 in a row. Hope I can make it to year 60 in a row.
Would like to make more than one trip a summer, but with 2 little ones, 8 hours in the truck is to much. So we will stick to one for now.
Looking for a nice family friendly lake to visit for about 4 days in say late August. Thinking about Lake Monroe in Indiana. Only about 2.5 hours at the most. Don't know anything about it.
Would like to find a nice clean family friendly resort style accommodations with a covered dock in a nice cove or something like that. Nice clean deep water is a must. No yucky Illinois mud type of lakes. Rock bottom lake preferred.
Not really into fishing at all, but like taking 1 hour boat rides at 25 mph and yanking the kids around on tube etc. The type of things that Table Rock are just perfect for.
Anyone know of anything like this within 4 or 5 hours of Champaign, Illinois. | |
