Your situation sucks beyond all reason, but Plowboy and RAB are right. This ship has sailed. That being said, go talk to the guy. If he actually said all of those things, he needs to be set straight. If he didn't, you may be better off without that landlord. I would strongly recommend that no one writes any letters. The writer always ends up looking dumb and there's absolutely nothing to be gained.

I would be fascinated to find out what tactics neighbors have used on other landlords to try to get ground away from the renter. My story is that I was recovering from back surgery when one of my "neighbors" called one of my landlords to tell him that I would be physically unable to farm after the operation. The landlord laughed at him. Said that he often doubts my mental fitness for even wanting to farm, but he'd stick with me.
