Subject: So what to do about losing the ground?

Kansas
Thanks for the replies below. Since yesterday when I told her, my wife has had steam coming from her ears she is so angry about how people can slander others to get ground and is mad at the land owners for not seeing through the deception and not taking the initiative to contact us before making their decision. She now wants to write an angry letter to the guy who ended up with it, but I don't know if she should. He's the son of good friends of ours, he's on a drainage board with us (dad's president, he's sec/treas), and he just recently bought 3 bulk bags of beans from me for double crop. So while it doesn't excuse him for what he's done, is it worth making things really uncomfortable? I've also started entertaining the thought of contacting a local paper reporter who does mostly farm reporting, but who knows how far that would take things? Or should any beef be with the land owners, and just let the other local stuff go and chalk it up to some people will just be how they are?
