I have less problems with our home printer now that I have connected it with a cable.
Printer will sometimes print wirelessly from one of the laptops in the house, but the mechanical connection is the most reliable here.
As another poster stated, maybe remove the printer from the 'devices' and see if the computer can re-discover it.
