Blooming where I am planted! | This is the type of thing that makes it not pleasurable to live in Chicago. Shows like this come along that are incredibly fascinating to me, but going there is so problematic:
--$50-100+ per ticket (who can afford that? Even the bottom-dollar kids' (ages 2-12) tickets are $31.50!!!)
--45 min - 1 hour to get to the show
--Lots of walking from the parking lot to the venue
--$10-20 for parking

Big investments on every front. If one is trying to live a financially responsible life and staying out of debt as much as possible, stuff like this ends up being most likely out of the question.
Sometimes less is more. Not that the two are comparable age-wise for kids, but Kiddieland (http://www.kiddieland.com/pricesandhours.asp) admission is $23, whereas Six Flags Great America is $55. Kiddieland is closing this year--which I think is sad.
It's sad to me to see some of the smaller-type, more affordable, entertainment options closing. And I understand that Six Flags is in bankruptcy.
