Subject: RE: HIV question

East central Iowa

With all the sexual confusion and with drugs that mask the presence of the disease it's an appropriate concern when the government decides to allow the most likely infected to donate blood into the mainstream supply.  Why do those who have the life style most likely to become infected wish to donate? As with the weekly or monthly  changes in CDC information regarding the effectiveness and complications of other things, I believe it's a reasonable concern.

Would you knowingly accept blood from and HIV positive individual when they had been taking a drug to mask the presence of the disease?

In 2019, an estimated 34,800 new HIV infections occurred in the U.S.

Approximately 1.2 million people in the U.S.a have HIV. About 13 percent of them don’t know it and need testing.
