Southeast | Ahh, the 'catch all code' NEC 110.3(B) is primarily talking about intermixing circuit breakers but tries to cover everything and is oft used as a 'violation'.
Like I said, it would 'violate' NEMA plug methodology (what you quoted is NEC saying the same thing, Not that it violates NEC). If it is an application where the plug/cable is being sold or used somewhere else, it would matter. The OP has nothing to do with the panel. For single use applications where only Ohm's law principles matter, it will work. If the OP ever thinks there is a chance for something else to be plugged in then, Yes, he/she should follow the NEMA plug chart. | |
