The 14-50 is a single phase 120/240 with ground receptacle, it is not suitable for 3 phase 50A but a 15-50 would be.  Plugging a 120/240V load into a 14-50 that is supplied with 3 phase would be a good way to destroy the device being plugged in, so use the correct plug.
