just a tish NE of central ND
One parting blade like the next is what I've found. They do make some that have a small base with wide T top. Straight top edge and a flat angled relief on the front and sides with relieve too. .The tool has to have relief ground into it one way or another and be squared up and on center too, and the shortest distance to the center of the tool post as possible, and compound as close to directly on top for rigidity, if there is any length to the object in the chuck, a live center for support on the end is almost inevitable and if it is a longer item, the steady rest/follower rest near the cut can also help with chatter...And then its a experiment with cutting fluid and speeds and feeds...Or do I sy especially the feeds and spindle speeds!.(slow) and slower! . Maybe insert tooling (parting) works better. IDK..But its always a learning experience with my limited projects I have done and no real right answer that works every time..
Oh yea, chatter and smoke!
