Rick, I have moved six of those Government bins. All of them in one piece about six miles. In our area they started selling them in the early '70's, I was pretty young then, one has writing in pencil inside it from the early '50's. Still fill and empty them every year. To the OP your bins should last longer than 8 years. Good luck getting it worked out.

A few years ago a aluminum govt bin most likely a 3200 bu butler branded bin, Not quite along the railroad track on a farmsite magically one day split the metal open winding down most on one side spilling the dry grain on the ground!
