I used to have a couple of 8960s. Went to a Ford 9680/NH 9882 and thought I had died and went to heaven. Engine compartment much easier and more accessible to work on, common sense A/C design, separate components—-axles, transmission, hydraulic system. If you have trouble on one of those with a Deere, you have trouble everywhere.
