east central ND | I bought a high hour Deere 8360rt last winter. Mainly for tillage. The air bag system sure makes it better riding than the older Deere 2 tracks I have road in. But driving over a rock is still a wake-up event. I have quite a few rocks.
Very muddy last spring. I still like the 4 wheel drive for playing in the mud, but that’s what I’m used to. Took a bit to get used to the steering, and realizing you should just stay away from the mud holes with a two track. But I think it will stay around until I need to upgrade for more HP. I do very little road travel, I have been told the more road time, the less the guys like a two track. I did ride in a big Deere 4 track with cab suspension this fall, I thought it would ride smoother than it did on fall tillage.
I did put the 40’ 1690 air drill behind the track tractor for a couple hundred acres. The front screw Deere 8200 with skinny tires that normally pulls the air drill would have been stuck many, many times on the same ground.
