Wisconsin
Acid is not a good substitute for blasting to get rust out of pits. Electrolysis can be a substitute for blasting, I'm not convinced it's a great surface prep, the surface seems to want to rust even though it is completely clean and rust free. Acid is fine for light rust on new metal, or wiping a clean sanded or ground surface. Blasting is best as far as I've seen.
