east central ND | Just reuse the slats. They are never going to wear out. The are to heavy to begin with and all the extra weight just burns through those floors and unless you love replacing those floors why would you want to add as much weigh to the chain as possible? I am going to take my chain out and put in the one that has plastic slats. The last floor I had to buy was about 3 years ago and was something like $1300 and that is the short floor because of the fore and aft, I think the long floor was over $3k. But that was from Deere. just my .02
