Have you ever plugged it hard enough to bend a slat or slats?
I can think of one case where the slats were re-used, and one was notably bent, and was straightened in a press, and re-used. A couple years later, a slat broke, and I'm willing to bet it was that one. On the other hand, if all are straight and true, they ought to last a long time.
The slats on the 50 & 60 series will bend the updated cast ones like the S series uses just don't bend. They pretty much last forever. |
