was sitting in a 300 economic course in the spring of 1971. The econ prof came in the door and was beside himself !!! "The world is never going to be the same"!! "yesterday Nixon got the legislature to allow the treasury dept.to ignore the gold standard" "it will affect every thing I tried to teach you !! That lecture rings in my ears yet today.
