Subject: RE: Seed tender for box planter

swmn

So I have a two box Travis with scale that will automatically shut off at desired weight. Use to have a 24 with 3 bu boxes. Filled 12 at a time without moving. One thing I learned was when I told scale net weight was to put in a 100 less lbs than what you actually have. So if you have 2500 lbs of seed, I would tell scale 2400 lbs. By time I filled all boxes and cleaned auger out it was pretty close. Not perfect but way better than trying to guess seed level in box. They never ended up the same when planter went empty anyway because of row clutches but real close on square fields. Other thing I did in corn was not to run auger very fast. This gave scale more time to react.
