There are so many useful everyday items that he could probably use. Three that come to mind are a good set of jumper cables, Dewalt 20 volt flashlight with batteries and charger (add the 20 volt drill too), portable air tank (we have some that are aluminum and lightweight that are easy to take air to the flat tire).
Agree except get milwalkee , if you want to spend a few bucks get him the 1/2" impact kit .
Some decent end wrenches if he is short on tools . Farmer always needs tools . as crazy as this might sound a big bundle of the black zip ties is good , high lift "handyman " jack - harbor freight has a good one .
iHF also has a set of excellent impact sockets in a plastic case 1/2" drive .I also carry in my pickup a 20 ton hydraulic jack - if he ever has to jack up a big tractor he will be glad he has it
