You can push it pretty far in tile up to 8”. Bigger than that it tends to turn into a slinkie a couple hundred in.
You can’t beat it for locating.
Unless something has gotten better, I wouldn’t spend the money for the battery winder. We rarely use our hand crank. Always been the weak spot on the entire set up.
We have ours sitting on a 2” receiver aluminum luggage carrier on the front of a side by side. Works great. | |
