Yeah, lithium isn't super tolerant of cold weather which is amongst the reason EVs has such poor range in the winter; they need to rob some power to warm the battery pack up to be able to provide the current necessary to move the car.
To that end even using your lithium battery tools in below freezing conditions isn't really recommended, but less risk than charging.
