Don't mind turkey at all. In fact, my wife makes some delicious turkey.
It is only after the 11th round of leftovers, that I realize why I only want it a couple times a year.
This year, she got a turkey 'loaf', which is basically turkey separated from the bone, and put in smaller packages. Can get pretty much whatever size you want from (I think) about 2 to 6 lbs in one pack. That way, we had enough for the 4 of us to gorge ourselves in one meal, and eat almost all the rest by the end of the next day. The meat was as flavorful and juicy as any I have had.
Suggested she try that again come Christmas.
Funny thing, unless you need the bones for something or other, it really isn't much more per pound than a whole turkey. The packaging should say if there is breast meat inside, and some indication of how much (some of the cheap packs are all dark, some of the premium are all breast).
Im going to run that by the wife . |
