Front cover most likely cracked......from air compressor
We tried welding and reinforced......next time we saved time and money and put a new one on...and made a really strong bracket to hold the air compressor end.....that cleaned up the motor
Had a 1320000 KS on it and it sheld out a big end bearing
Cat does recommend that you roll new bearings in at a million ks
That is what killed the engine....was set at 350 hp
Truck was sold and reto fitted with a C12
