West of Broken Bow | When you live far from any town and run low on things, sometimes it’s necessary to try things not normally considered. I was miles from the shop and needed something to clean the grease and oil off my hands. Ran out of hand cleaner so I looked around the house to see if there was something else besides dish detergent. I’d already tried olive oil just to see if it could cut through the oil effectively. It didn’t.
So next up was a bottle of Sesame oil. I applied it liberally to both hands and worked it across the palms and fingers then wiped it with a paper towel. It may not be scented to influence such a use but it worked well with the paper toweling. Only thing is it wasn’t easy to get rid of the smell of the oil. Not a big deal unless such minor things irritate a person so easily. Just thought I’d share in case you too are ever without hand cleaner. It was a little surprising that sesame oil would be useful for something entirely different. | |
