Good WINTER tires with the snowflake on the sidewall will be vastly superior to any M+S rated tires and negate the feeling that you need more weight. Just look at the tread, or lack thereof, on most vehicles. Smooth riding, quiet tires do not work in the winter. Until you have a vehicle with snowflake, severe snow tires, you don't know what you are missing.
