SW Ontario | Exactly, house wrap is air impermeable but vapour permeable. Using housewrap will allow your wall to dry to the outside.
But I don't agree with the rest of your post. Air sealing on the outside will not do anything to address vapour transmission through the exterior layer on your wall. To do that you will need to use a different product that is vapour impermeable. The vapour barrier is also still needed on the interior surface as that is where the warm moist air will enter the wall. | |
