Is your box sill and basement well insulated?
I have been having a lot of insulation work done over the last two years. The company I use was very helpful in prioritizing what would have the most benefit. I was told first to Insulate attic, then rim joist, then back into walls. They've used a combination of closed cell Spray foam and Dense Pack cellulose. All that can be done with minimal damage to your interior.
