Subject: RE: Leasing a pickup vs buying

I don't know what the answer is. Luckily I have one pickup with 60,000 on it an another with 160,000.
I used to buy them at just over 100,000 miles and run till rusted out.
The last time I wanted to buy I bought a new pickup for less than some of the used ones I looked at.
The new plan was to get a new heavier duty pickup for the farm. I just can't justify that at these prices.
Used I have looked at are not at a price point I can justify either.
My last option is redoing the 160,000 mile one.
I don't have the stomach for that either. It needs a new box and the body man says if we redo the cab it will only last a few years.
Probably if I looked close it has some issues as a large cottonwood fell on it last spring. I know one head light and the trailer wiring has been funky since then.
Engine had the AFM deleted but still has an occasional stutter. Pickup has had regular service but has been used hard so I have to wonder about the drive line also.
It has been a good pickup as the only items replaced have been the tires, battery, the brakes and one head light. It might be getting due for a bunch of stuff.
