I would say its a comparable analysis.
When govt intervenes itself where it doesn't belong instead of allowing the market to decide for itself, the govt almost always ends up screwing things up.
The USSR screwed themselves over with collective farms. The USA is screwing itself over trying to save the planet from the weather.
