SW “Ohia”

My siblings and I grew up helping dad with his cows and feedlot. He never had a loader of any type, not even a 3pt mounted trip manure loader like the neighbors did. Just wasn’t something he was willing to spend the money on, and Grandpa never had one either. I guess if you’ve never used something, you can’t miss it.

Spent a lot of hot summer days after school driving a pitch fork.

As we all grew up and moved out, Dad started borrowing a loader tractor from a neighbor, then that neighbor retired, and wanted to sell it for a heck of a deal, and it still took convincing to get Dad to buy it.

Having my own skid steer is Heaven. Even being a worn out old JCB, it sure doesn’t make me miss those pitch fork or shovel days.
