Subject: RE: irrigation pond

south central WI
150x50x6=45000 cu ft x 7.48 gallons per cu ft=336623 gallons รท 1400= 240 min (4 hours) to completely drain pond. It's been a while since soils class, but a quick Google says very fine silt can take 7 hours up to 24 hours to settle. It depends on how fine yourself is, or if it's actually clay. Either way, it seems like your pond is too small. I'm not an engineer though. It seems like you might want something that will hold a day or 2 of water to allow it to settle out enough. Maybe wider and deeper, instead of long and shallow, to slow down water speed allowing into settle easier.
