Croswell, Michigan | I had a heel spur a few years ago. I went every two weeks for a cortisone shot in the side of my heel which was even worse than the heel spur. The doctor had suggested I buy cushion inserts which I did after a while. In time it went away.
Flash forward to this fall and after a full day of walking at the Farm Progress show my feet were killing me. Within a few weeks I had sharp pain in one foot everytime I stood up. It would last for a few minutes then die down but not go away. If I sat down even for a minute it would repeat the cycle again. I didn't want to go through the shots again so I dragged my feet(no pun intended!) on doing anything. One day I was in the drug store and bought the best looking pair of shoe inserts they had. Within two days there was a huge improvement. Its not gone yet but each day is better.
The inserts I use are under the heel, not the arch.
