Subject: RE: How to clean sink drain (inside)

Pittsburg, Kansas
It is not home made but we use Liquid Plumber as directed on the bottle. Then when I rinse it with hot water I fill the basin completely fill of the hottest water the sink will produce. Then open the drain while letting more hot water run.

If I let it go too long sometimes have to repeat 2-3 times. No magic, just some acid and hot water doing its thing.

The bathroom sink I shave at needs this procedure at least once a year. Seems like the combination of whiskers and shaving crème will make it start to run very slow. I do the above one to three times. When it works, I can hear the plug release and the added pressure from the full sink puts enough pressure that all of the sudden the clog releases and water quickly drains.

When it is a really tough clog I have used a toilet plunger after treating it with the drain cleaner liquid with success.
