Subject: RE: Lake effect snow

We live 16 miles from Lake Michigan. Early in the winter we do get bigger snows when the storm picks up moisture from the lake. My me it is pretty bad at the moment. I just got off the phone with my dad. He was returning from a week of hunting in the upper peninsula. He said the last few miles before they got off the highway they were going 12 mph because they couldn’t see and there were cars in the ditch everywhere.

This is a bad storm, but it is no worse than any other blizzard anywhere else just because it comes off the lake. Weather man has to sensationalize everything to keep people watching.
