mercer county, il
That’s kinda a loaded question, and that’s why I went with the yoy avg. because what the river “needs” to bring levels back up is dynamic. It could take 2x as much flow for the same levels, simply because as levels rise, it’s recharging wetlands, water tables etc. not to mention the amount that ends up in the Atchafalya basin, which is yet again, law which is I believe 25% of the flow of the Mississippi, red, and black rivers.

Once it’s saturated? It doesn’t take much to make it flood, but the converse is also true, when it’s dried out? It takes a lot of water to bring it back
