If you are using the Google Contacts app, you can do it using these instructions. It will save the file to your phone in a folder of your choosing and will be in the VCF format, which is an industry standard. The VCF file will probably not be very large, even if you have many contacts, so the easiest way to get it to your other phone would be to create a new email, attach the VCF file and email it to yourself. Otherwise, you'll have to transfer the file via a USB drive or computer.
If you are using a contacts app that is different than the default Google app, it should still have an export option somewhere in the settings that will create a VCF file containing all your contacts.
If neither of those work for you, I've had success using the free Content Transfer app from Verizon Consumer Group. You will be able to use it even if you're not a Verizon customer.
