Subject: Pecan oil and seed oils

Pittsburg, Kansas
I don't know about pecan oil but my guess would be like Sam said. As long as it is cold pressed probably fine. After all, coconut oil has been proven it is not the terrible oil it was once made out to be.

One doctor I follow, Dr Paul Mason from Australia, claims that Omega 6 oils are not specifically the problem but instead the oxidation of the oils. He claimed the seed oils are highly oxidized when they go through the commercial high heat refining process. The oxidized oils then are not good fuel to burn but instead become part of our cell walls and cause inflammation and damage to the cells.

Here is kind of the Cliff notes version put together by a different Youtube presentation. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0xGF_nfr-Nk

Pecans are our go to nut for low carb deserts. One of the lowest carbohydrate nuts out there and delicious. We have a couple native trees of our own so eat those when we can, but trees have not yielded anything for three years now. So have been buying nuts.

Wife likes to toast them in the oven.
