Adding to previous post:

When using welder as a generator, keep off/idle/run switch in"run" position, you do not want it to idle down, it needs to keep running at full rpm.

Before using welder as a generator, it is worth your time to measure voltage and frequency, at no load and at full load.

My Miller welder generates 125 volts at 63 hertz with no load, 115 volts at 60 hertz at full load.

This is the normal "droop" with a mechanical governor.

You may need to adjust your governor to maintain 60 hertz at full load.

I have found that a digital frequency meter does not work with my welder, it generates too many harmonics.

The legacy style vibrating reed frequency meter works best with a welder, you don't even need to connect it.

You can just bungee the vibrating reed meter on top of the welder, on a piece of foam to dampen vibration.
