NW Washington		I think I can make real white rice in about 5 minutes more than it takes to make Minute Rice, and the rice will be better and the kind of rice we like, which is usually a
Basmati rice or short grain rice, depending on the situation.
And I just use a small saucepan with a good tight lid to cook the rice. We don't eat enough rice to warrant having another seldom used gadget like a rice cooker in the kitchen cupboard. But some folks in the world eat rice almost every day which is fine with me.
