Idaho / Oregon | I export grain for a living. There are certain buyers that need US grain regardless but the dollar is significantly hurting us in some markets. Specifically Southeast Asia. Inflation in some of those countries makes ours look like a speed bump and they are trying to reduce demand for soy and corn as much as they can. Do I think prices are going down? No. Is it hurting us? Yes.
Also. Today was the first time I ever heard us discuss nuclear war on the company grain conference call. There are some people who legitimately think Putin is heading towards the deep end and wants to sling a small one into Ukraine. Let’s pray he doesn’t. | |
