Many years ago I had colon cancer, during treatment they asked me a series of questions concerning my diet. Mayo Clinic's conclusion was my cancer was probably caused by my eating grilled meat cooked over a gas fire, eating it well done. Charring trapped some of the noxious gas fumes from the fire, infecting my intestines.
Do not ask me to explain, just repeating what Mayo Clinic said.
