Elevating the head of the bed is a simple way to help with reflex. Our has been that way for years long after the problem is gone. 
After  we got used to it we can hardly sleep on a flat one.

ps I remember the first couple nights we would wake up with the whole mattress slid down to the floor. Toe board solved that.
