When life wasn’t so hectic I’d go bike riding out in different rural areas that mostly had paved roads. We never rode at night or days when there might be poor visibility. This was a good distance from the nearest towns. I purposely chose the routes to avoid much traffic where it was quiet.
Well, at first, there were no issues. It became obvious that should we want to remain alive or free from injury, our bike riding would need to cease or be done somewhere far away. We always kept far to the right on roads and didn’t take our lives for granted. More than once we’d encounter a blind curve and a car would be hugging the wrong side of the curve and be heading straight for us. That was too close to being run over. They were almost always traveling double the speed limit or faster. This occurred more than once. I didn’t need to be run over to learn anything. That was the end of my bike riding on public roads.
