| Drove from Monmouth, IL to Des Moines on I-80 today to watch the Iowa state fair tractor pull. (No IL state fair tractor pull this year). West of Iowa City the crops appeared to be in a flash drought. Many farmstead yards were brown all the way to Des Moines. Talked with a farm couple that said they live up North of Des Moines and said they were dry as well. Was aware the bottom Iowa counties were dry but didn't realize it was dry further north in the State.
