Central Missouri | As farmers we are going to have years like this. The one good thing, when you farm on the fringe, is that we know we are going to have them and its good to get them behind us and we are that much closer to a good one yield wise.
As farmers we cant control the weather from the sky but we can tile and irrigate, we can set up a production system that mitigates the weather we receive, and we can set up a crop insurance plan that maximizes revenue in many different scenarios!
The longer prices stay high the closer we are to a really good yielding crop that is worth very little due to overproduction. Its tough to watch our crops deteriorate but it can and eventually will get alot worse financially.
