Subject: RE: Storing potatoes

All correct with slight variations depending on variety . Years ago seed and table potatoes as long as was no more than a thin layer of ice on a pail of water in the storage, they didn’t light a fire . We’ll store seed at 33-34 . Table potatoes at 38 , too cold and they’re brittle during handling . Winter store some French fry varieties at 42 and russets at 48 . Summer try for 50 but if they get to 54 with humidity system on at all temperatures it’s good . Don’t change temperature more than a half degree per day for best long term storage .
