Western Oregon | Grandma called it mock apple pie, with crackers or zucchini mock apple pie. Gravenstein apples are ripe right now but I will wait for the good Alberta peaches, ripe right around Labor Day. Both are better warm with vanilla bean ice cream. I am not a cake eater. I haven't had apple pie for years, except for one fried apple pie last summer. My apples are in cider or apple slices on pancakes for the most part....James | |
