Subject: RE: over pressure valve dangers

western colorado

Reminds me of a good story.  Friend of mine was on the fire department and they got a emergency call of an explosion at such and such address early one cold morning.  They get there and the whole end of a trailer house is blown off.  Some of the Debri is steaming.  Well it turns out the guy that lived there had the burner in his hot water tank go out some time ago and he would just stick a weed burner under it for such and such a time take a shower and then turn it off.  Well that morning he forgot to turn it off and went to work.  Luckily no one was there when it went off.  The best part was local deputy showed up and thought terrorists were to blame and he almost arrested the whole fire department because they wouldn't listen to him.  (Shortly after 911 attack.) Claimed the fire dept was ruining the crime scene and they were all getting arrested.  Luckily local town cop found the tank from the hot water heater some 200yds away and convinced him it was ok.
