stainless rebar? might as well use gold plated while you are at it! Personally, I'd use the fiberglass REBAR (not mesh) and be done with it. Fiberglass rod is cheaper than steel and much easier to work with as it is very light to drag around. Bending corners isn't as easy to do as steel as it is a rigid product but you could mix in a little steel where required.

Our pit floor was poured 6" thick with steel bar and the only places we have issues was where the rebar was too high in the slab and eventually the concrete wore down to expose it. Also, our floor has a bit of a center low spot running the length of the pit where we poured the left half and came back and poured the right half. The acid has eroded some of the concrete away here, forming a bit of a drain but its not terrible. There are plenty of pads that have held up quite well using steel rebar so I don't see that big of a concern.
