Don't flinch, just say fine, pay me 1/2 your "appraised" value, and it is yours. Betchya she coughs and pukes and back tracks real fast... If not, take the money and start over somewhere else . With deflation here, you might buy back better in a year or so.
PS, I wonder what the success rate for 2nd marriages is.
